معرفی
Professor Lip Teh is a faculty member at the University of Wollongong, holding the position of Professor in the School of Civil, Mining and Environmental Engineering since January 2020. Prior to academia, he worked as a structural engineer in manufacturing and consulting industries, specializing in cold-formed steel storage racks. His research focuses on advanced steel structures, bolted connections, climate-resilient designs, and modular construction.
He has held honorary positions at Johns Hopkins University, Imperial College London, Stanford University, and the University of Alberta. As a Fellow of the Structural Engineering Institute (ASCE), he contributes to professional committees such as the SEI Committee on Structural Connections and Cold-Formed Steel Members. His leadership roles include Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Constructional Steel Research (ERA A*) and Associate Editor of the ASCE Journal of Structural Engineering.
Professor Teh's research has directly influenced design clauses in standards like AS/NZS 4600 and ANSI/AISI S100. His work spans experimental and numerical studies on bolted connections, steel pipelines, and additive manufacturing techniques. He actively supervises PhD and Master’s students, focusing on topics like cold-formed steel mid-rise buildings and hailstone impact on roofing systems.
His awards include the Endeavour Research Fellowship and numerous editorial roles. Current projects include the Steel Research Hub initiative to advance cold-formed steel products in mid-rise construction.
