Lior Gishboliner is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Toronto, specializing in extremal and probabilistic combinatorics, with applications to theoretical computer science. He earned his PhD from Tel Aviv University in 2021 under Asaf Shapira and subsequently held a postdoctoral research fellowship at ETH Zurich under Benny Sudakov.
His research focuses on problems related to maximizing/minimizing combinatorial parameters under constraints, connections to number theory, geometry, harmonic analysis, and group theory, as well as property testing algorithms in theoretical computer science. This work addresses foundational questions in discrete mathematics and computational efficiency.
