Lionel McPherson is an Associate Professor of Philosophy at Tufts University’s School of Arts and Sciences. He holds a PhD from Harvard University and an AB (summa cum laude) from Princeton University. His research focuses on ethics, political and social philosophy, particularly exploring normativity, obligations, race, war/terrorism, and racial identity. He is affiliated with the Certificate Program in Ethics, Law, and Society.

His grants include funding from the Templeton World Charity Foundation for research on forgiveness in post-genocide Rwanda.
