Linn Järnberg

Linn Järnberg serves as a Research Fellow at Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) Headquarters within the Development Policy and Finance Team of the Resources, Rights and Development Division. She is simultaneously pursuing her PhD at Linköping University, building on her academic foundation that includes an MSc in sustainability science from Stockholm Resilience Centre and a BA in political science from the University of Gothenburg.

Her research specializes in strengthening systems thinking within policy and governance frameworks, with particular emphasis on the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Järnberg investigates governance innovations that enable integrated and transformative approaches to sustainability agendas, examining how different policy targets interact and influence one another.

Järnberg's publication record reveals a consistent focus on SDG interactions across multiple contexts, with significant work in Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and other international settings. Her research demonstrates how systems thinking can be operationalized through tools like SDG Synergies to identify synergies and trade-offs between different sustainability targets, providing practical guidance for policymakers.
