Linling Gao-Miles is a Senior Lecturer in Global Studies at Washington University in St. Louis, affiliated with the Asian American Studies minor. She holds a PhD from Nagoya University, Japan, specializing in intercultural studies and ethnographic research. Her work focuses on transnational Chinese migration, multiculturalism, ethnic representation, and intercultural communication. She teaches courses exploring global consumer cultures, immigrant identity, and intercultural dynamics. Her research investigates transnational migration agents, ethnoburbs, and the impact of international students/tourists on global consumer spaces. She has published widely on ethnic enclave dynamics, spatial identity politics, and multicultural policy critiques. Courses include 'Chinatown: Migration, Identity, and Space' and 'From McDonald’s to K-Pop: New Movements in East Asia.'
