Dr. Lingyun Chen is a Professor and Division Director (Food Sci.) in the Department of Ag, Food & Nutri Sci at the University of Alberta's Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences. She holds a PhD from Wuhan University, China. Her research focuses on plant protein structures, functional properties, and applications in food and biodegradable materials. Notable achievements include over 200 publications and prestigious awards like the Canadian Research Chair (Tier 2) and Killam Annual Professors. She teaches courses such as AFNS 503, AFNS 532, and NU FS 201.
Education: PhD, Wuhan University, China. Research interests include biopolymers, protein-polysaccharide interactions, and nanomaterials for nutraceutical delivery.
