Lingyang Chu is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computing and Software, McMaster University, focusing on data mining, machine learning, and knowledge representation. His career spans industry and academia, including roles as a Principal Researcher at Huawei Technologies Canada and a Postdoctoral Fellow at Simon Fraser University under Prof. Jian Pei.
Research Interests: His work bridges theoretical and applied aspects of adversarial attacks on deep neural networks, federated learning, graph neural networks, and model interpretability. Specific interests include watermarking for tabular datasets, fairness in distributed learning systems, and robust clustering techniques.
Recent Publications: His research output demonstrates expertise across top-tier conferences and journals, with emphasis on security vulnerabilities in deep learning systems, efficient distributed learning frameworks, and graph-based data mining.
