Lingping Kong

Dr. Lingping Kong is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at San Diego State University (SDSU), affiliated with the College of Engineering. His research focuses on next-generation electrochemical energy storage systems, particularly solid-state Li-metal batteries, addressing interfacial challenges and electro-chemo-mechanical degradation to enhance battery longevity. He explores operando characterization techniques for battery material design and sustainable recycling of battery materials. His lab facilities include Ar-filled gloveboxes (moisture/oxygen <0.1ppm), XPS, XRD, advanced potentiostats, battery testers, and specialized equipment for material synthesis and analysis.
