Lindsey Schneider

Lindsey Schneider is an Associate Professor in the Department of Ethnic Studies at Colorado State University. She is an Indigenous (Turtle Mountain Chippewa descendant) feminist scholar whose work focuses on tribal nations' relationships with land, environmental justice, and decolonization. Currently on sabbatical for Fall 2024, she is deeply involved in community initiatives like the ISTAR program for Native youth.

• Education: PhD and MA in Ethnic Studies from UC Riverside, BA from Willamette University.

Her research spans Indigenous Feminisms, Settler Colonialism, and Queer Theory, with a focus on land sovereignty, food justice, and decolonial methodologies. Recent publications examine genetically engineered salmon, buffalo restoration, and land-based education.

Key trends in her work include intersections of Environmental Science and Indigenous Studies, emphasizing anti-colonial frameworks in conservation, policy analysis, and Indigenous futurism. Her teaching covers courses like Indigenous Law & Policy, Queer Indigenous Studies, and Global Environmental Justice Movements.

She actively contributes to Indigenous community engagement through the ISTAR program and the President's Native American Advisory Council.
