Lindsey Powell

Lindsey Powell is a faculty member at the University of California, San Diego, affiliated with the Department of Psychology. Her research focuses on the early development of social cognition and motivation, particularly how infants and young children understand others' minds, interactions, and relationships. She employs behavioral measurements (e.g., infant looking & reaching, child judgments & predictions) and brain function assessments via functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) to explore the mechanisms underlying cooperation, communication, and social learning in early life stages.
