Linda Ross is an Associate Professor in the Department of Paramedicine at Monash University. Her research focuses on paramedic education, clinical reasoning, geriatric care, and paramedic system performance. She actively contributes to interprofessional education initiatives and has pioneered studies on paramedic interactions with older adults and dementia patients. Ross is involved in shaping paramedic system modernization through frameworks like the 'knowledge to action' model.
Her work bridges clinical practice and policy, addressing barriers to research in paramedicine and advancing system performance metrics. She has been recognized for her teaching excellence, including the SPHC Teaching Excellence Award (2015) and the Dean's Award for Excellence in Education (2021). Ross chairs the Research Committee at the Australasian College of Paramedicine (ACP) and organizes major conferences like the Australasian College of Paramedicine International Conference.
Key contributions include evaluating paramedic education programs, developing clinical training methods using eye-tracking technology, and exploring paramedic-GP collaboration. Her research also addresses opioid crisis response protocols and psychosocial factors affecting older patients.
Ross supervises PhD students and actively participates in grant reviews, peer reviews (e.g., Monash 3MT Competition), and educational innovation projects. She emphasizes experiential learning, including community engagement and interprofessional simulations with occupational therapy students.
