معرفی
Linda Oyama is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Biological Sciences, Queen's University Belfast. She leads the AMR and One Health Lab and coordinates the AMR Hub at Queens, focusing on interdisciplinary research combining microbiology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics to address antimicrobial resistance (AMR) at the human-veterinary-agricultural interface. Her lab emphasizes a One Health approach, using surveillance and meta-‘omics to study AMR origins, burden, and transmission.
- Coordinates AMR Hub
- Accepting PhD students
- Active collaborations in dairy/beef industries
Research Interests: The lab specializes in:
- AMR surveillance via wet-lab, in silico, and meta-‘omic methods
- Discovery of microbiome-derived antimicrobial peptides for MDR pathogens
- Microbiome interaction studies for diagnostics
Key Projects: Recent projects include rumen microbiome monitoring platforms, feed additives for dairy cows, and climate change impacts on AMR. She was elected to the African Scholars Network (AfSRN) and serves as an advisor for the UK Young Academy.
