Linda Luna is a Full-Time Lecturer in the Biology Department at the University of Central Oklahoma's College of Mathematics & Science. She serves as the General Biology Lab Coordinator for Non-Majors and Faculty Co-Sponsor for the Biology Club and Beta Beta Beta (Tri-Beta) National Honor Society for Biology Majors.
- Education: B.S. and M.S. in Biology from the University of Central Oklahoma, with additional coursework from the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University.
Her research spans diverse biological disciplines, focusing on:
- Behavioral & Population Ecology of vertebrates including mammals, birds, and herps
- Infectious Disease Research on West Nile Virus in small mammals
- Molecular Phylogenetics studies in marmots, swift foxes, and prairie dogs
- Morphological Analysis of batfly sensory receptors
While emphasizing fieldwork expertise, she also contributes to laboratory studies addressing ecological questions. Her published work reveals trends in rodent cognition (2000-2004), batfly morphology (1997), and vertebrate population dynamics.
Linda actively mentors students through Biology Club and Tri-Beta Honor Society sponsorships, while maintaining full-time teaching responsibilities.
