Linda Höglund is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Control at the School of Business, Society and Engineering (EST) at Mälardalen University, Sweden. She serves as the Third Cycle Director for Industrial Economics and Organization (IEO) and Business Studies (FEK) programs since 2022. Her research focuses on strategic management in the public sector, management accounting practices, public value creation, and entrepreneurship in governmental organizations. She holds a PhD from Örebro University (2013), where she explored strategic entrepreneurship in medium-sized firms, later expanding her work to public sector actors like the Swedish Transport Administration and Swedish Public Employment Service.
Her teaching spans business administration, strategic management accounting, and New Public Management (NPM), with a focus on doctoral supervision. She collaborates actively with the Academy of Management Accounting and Control in Central Government (AES) at Stockholm University, co-leading a digital strategy network with Prof. Maria Mårtensson. Key research themes include governance practices, performance measurement, trust dynamics, and collaborative innovation in public institutions.
Dr. Höglund co-founded a Community of Practice (CoP) at MDU to enhance interdisciplinary research collaboration, emphasizing societal challenges. Her work bridges theory and practice, addressing complex governance issues through strategic frameworks and stakeholder engagement. Notable contributions include studies on public value accounting, strategic management in healthcare systems, and organizational renewal through entrepreneurial practices.
