Dr. Linda Fenocchi is a Senior Lecturer in Health Economics at Glasgow Caledonian University, affiliated with the Yunus Centre. She specializes in health economics and social determinants of health, with a focus on measuring health outcomes and pedagogical research in health economics education. Her work bridges academic research and real-world policy applications, informed by over 16 years of experience as a senior policy specialist in government and national organizations, including roles as a private secretary to Health Ministers.
Linda’s research spans health economics methodologies, including economic evaluations alongside clinical trials, primary data collection, and linked health data analysis. She is currently co-leading the NIHR-funded DIMES study (2022–2025) evaluating Distress Brief Interventions for suicidal ideation. Recent projects include studies on social determinants of health in low-income populations (FinWell-COVID), women’s health (PROPEL, POPPY), incontinence in care homes (ELECTRIC), and mental health interventions post-stroke (HEADS:UP).
Her doctoral work (submitted 2020) explored health outcome measurement for foot pain treatments, contributing to the International Foot and Ankle OA Consortium (IFOAC). She actively contributes to academic networks, including chairing the Scottish Health Economics Early Career Network and participating in UK HESG committees. She is pursuing Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy to enhance her academic teaching practices.
Linda’s work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in reducing inequalities (SDG 10) and promoting good health (SDG 3). Her research portfolio includes over 11 peer-reviewed publications and collaborative grants, emphasizing cost-consequence analyses, clinical trial evaluations, and patient-centered outcomes.
