Associate Professor Linda Daley is a teacher-researcher in the School of Media and Communication at RMIT University. Her research explores the intersection of literature, philosophy, and ethics from feminist, anti-colonial, and pedagogic perspectives, with a focus on Aboriginal literature's role in shaping democratic futures. She leads undergraduate and research programs and serves as the School’s reconciliation advocate, advancing First Nations representation in education and research.
Linda teaches courses such as Literature’s Ethics and Locating Knowledges, emphasizing Indigenous knowledge systems, public knowledge production, and aesthetics. She has supervised over 20 postgraduate students in areas including feminist arts theory, Indigenous language revival, and design ethics. Her leadership roles include editorial work for the Journal of Australian Studies and mentoring in the Association for the Study of Australian Literature (ASAL).
Linda’s research spans cultural studies, philosophy, and literary theory, with a focus on decolonial pedagogy and creative practice. Her recent projects include exploring narrative forms in Alexis Wright’s fiction and rethinking pedagogical frameworks through settler listening practices. She advocates for embedding Indigenous perspectives across academic and institutional structures.
