California Institute of Technology (Caltech)معرفی
Linda C. Hsieh-Wilson is the Arthur and Marian Hanisch Memorial Professor of Chemistry at the California Institute of Technology, where she has been a faculty member since 2000. She also holds the Milton and Rosalind Chang Professor of Chemistry and Merkin Institute Professor titles. Her research spans chemistry and neurobiology, focusing on glycans and post-translational modifications.
- Education: B.S. (Yale, 1990), Ph.D. (University of California, 1996)
Her work develops chemical tools to study how glycans and their proteins regulate neuronal communication, neuroplasticity, and disease. Recent projects include synthesizing heparan sulfate mimetics, exploring O-GlcNAc modifications, and creating chemoenzymatic labeling methods.
In 2022, she was elected to the National Academy of Sciences. Her lab has published key findings in journals like Nature Chemistry and PNAS, including sulfation code deciphering and cancer biomarker detection methods.
- 2022: NAS election
- 2017: Hanisch Memorial Professorship
- 2017: Chang Professorship
- 2020: JACS and Nature Chemical Biology publications
Her lab mentors graduate students and postdocs, including recent PhD candidates Gracie Zhang and Hailan Yu. Collaborative grants and lab news highlight interdisciplinary training and breakthroughs in glycan biology and neurochemistry.
