Linda Birnbaum

Linda Birnbaum is an Honorary Professor at the Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences (University of Queensland) and serves as the Director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) and the National Toxicology Program (NTP). With over 40 years as a federal scientist, her career includes leadership roles in environmental health research at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and NIEHS.

Her research focuses on the pharmacokinetic behavior of environmental chemicals, mechanisms of action of toxicants (including endocrine disruption), and linking real-world exposures to health effects. She has authored over 1,000 peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and reports, establishing her as a leading figure in toxicology and environmental health sciences.
