Lina Yao

Professor Lina Yao is a Senior Principal Research Scientist and Science Lead at CSIRO's Data61, and Conjoint Full Professor at the School of Computer Science and Engineering, University of New South Wales (UNSW). She leads the Data Dynamics Lab (D² Lab), founded in 2016, which focuses on developing generalizable, explainable, and data-efficient algorithms for human-machine interactions.

Her research spans few-shot learning, graph neural networks, and deep reinforcement learning, applied to domains like recommender systems, biomedical imaging, and IoT. Collaborations include institutions such as Stanford and Tsinghua Universities.

Recent publications appear in top venues like NeurIPS, SIGKDD, and CVPR. She serves as Associate Editor for ACM Transactions on Sensor Networks and Knowledge-based Systems.
