Lina Moses

Dr. Lina Moses serves as Associate Professor and Director of MPH Programs at Tulane University's Weatherhead School of Public Health, with a secondary appointment in the Department of International Health and Sustainable Development.

As an epidemiologist and disease ecologist, Dr. Moses conducts field-based research on viral zoonoses transmitted from small mammals, investigating human-animal-pathogen interfaces through observational and quasi-experimental studies. Her work establishes community-level surveillance systems for zoonotic diseases in both human and animal populations, with the explicit goal of developing rapid-response interventions to prevent primary animal-to-human transmission events. This research directly addresses critical gaps in emerging infectious disease control.

Dr. Moses teaches Tropical Virology (TRMD 6420) and leads the MPH program administration, shaping curriculum development and student training in public health practice.
