معرفی
Professor Lin Ma is a Professor of Fluid Dynamics at the University of Sheffield's School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering, where he joined in February 2015 as part of the Energy 2050 initiative. He completed his PhD at the University of Leeds and held various academic positions there including Research Fellow, Senior Research Fellow, Senior Lecturer, and Associate Professor before moving to Sheffield.
His research spans clean and sustainable energy, industrial decarbonisation, and energy efficiency technology with a strong focus on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling. Professor Ma has made significant contributions to carbon capture technologies, clean combustion processes, wind energy systems, and fuel cell development. He has co-authored over 200 peer-reviewed research papers and holds two patents in his field.
His work demonstrates a strong emphasis on practical applications of theoretical models, particularly in addressing climate change challenges through innovative energy solutions. His research integrates computational methods with experimental validation across multiple energy sectors including power generation, transportation, and water resources.
Professor Ma has participated in numerous research projects funded by UK, EU, and industry sources, reflecting the applied nature and relevance of his work to current energy challenges. His collaborative approach is evident in his extensive co-authorship with researchers across different disciplines and institutions.
He has supervised numerous PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, contributing to the development of the next generation of energy researchers. His laboratory work focuses on advancing CFD techniques for energy applications, with particular attention to multi-scale modeling approaches that bridge theoretical understanding with practical engineering solutions.
