Dr. Limor Yungman is a Research Fellow at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem's Martin Buber Society of Fellows, with additional postdoctoral affiliations at EHESS (School of Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences) and IMAF (Institute of African Worlds). Her research reconstructs medieval Islamic culinary practices through manuscript analysis, focusing on sociocultural contexts of food preparation.

Research Focus: She investigates the evolution of Arabic cookbooks (10th-16th centuries), culinary diplomacy, and the intersection of dietetics with cultural practices. Her current project examines the transmission of culinary knowledge across the medieval Islamic world, employing digital humanities approaches to manuscript corpora.
Publications: Her articles analyze trends in medieval recipe literature, including linguistic evolution of texts, sociopolitical roles of chefs, and culinary adaptations to religious norms, primarily using Arabic manuscript sources from Mamluk and earlier periods.
