Lily Shapiro

Lily Shapiro is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Kaiser Permanente, affiliated with the Department of Anthropology at the University of Washington. She earned her PhD in Anthropology from the same institution in 2021.

Research Interests: Her work focuses on medical anthropology, occupational health, labor dynamics, trauma, and the globalization of medical expertise and technologies, with a regional emphasis on India. She explores these themes through ethnographic studies of factory accidents and reconstructive plastic surgery in South India.
