Lili Zhao is a Research Professor in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Michigan. She holds a PhD in Statistics from the University of Iowa (2006) and has worked in both industry (Becton, Dickinson and Company) and academia, joining the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center in 2007 before becoming a faculty member in 2011.

Her recent publications (2020–2011) highlight expertise in survival analysis, deep learning for health data, vaccine adverse event modeling, and statistical frameworks for oncology trials. She has secured NIH funding, including an R01 grant for vaccine safety research.
