Liina Sangolt

Liina Sangolt serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Maritime Studies at Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL), based at the Haugesund campus (HGSD H-HOV3019). She teaches foundational engineering courses including ING100 Introduction to Engineering Practice and MAS220 Introduction to Fluid Mechanics for Fall 2024.

Her research focuses on innovative hydrogen production systems, particularly exploring the integration of fluctuating power sources with hydrogen generation technologies. Dr. Sangolt specializes in small-scale hydropower applications for hydrogen production, with emphasis on run-off-river power plants and sustainable energy conversion systems.

Her recent publications demonstrate significant contributions to understanding power-to-hydrogen conversion efficiency, system modeling for small-scale applications, and practical implementation of renewable hydrogen production. The research shows strong emphasis on practical engineering solutions for sustainable energy systems.

Dr. Sangolt actively collaborates with researchers including Andrés Franklin Olivares Lopez, Emmanuel Quayson, Arthur Uno Rognmo, and Velaug Myrseth Oltedal on hydropower-hydrogen integration projects, indicating participation in multidisciplinary research teams focused on renewable energy solutions.
