معرفی
Dr. Liesbeth Birchall is a Research Fellow in Sustainable Textile Materials at the University of Leeds' School of Design. Her expertise spans textiles, polymer chemistry, cellulosic fibres, and additive manufacturing. She holds a PhD in additive manufacturing from the University of Nottingham and a Master's in Chemistry from the University of Liverpool. Her research focuses on developing biodegradable absorbent hygiene products using renewable waste sources, particularly through mechanical and chemical recycling and fibre spinning from industrial waste. She bridges chemistry and textiles to advance sustainable manufacturing practices.
Education:
- PhD, Centre for Additive Manufacturing, University of Nottingham
- MChem, University of Liverpool
Research Interests:
Birchall specializes in functional polymers and sustainable materials development. Her work emphasizes recycling industrial waste into usable fibres and textiles, with a focus on biodegradable solutions. She explores cellulosic fibres' potential in absorbent products, aiming to reduce environmental impact through innovative material science.
