Lida Gharibvand, PhD, is a Professor and Director of Allied Health Studies at Loma Linda University's School of Allied Health Professions. She specializes in epidemiology, biostatistics, and biomechanics research with applications in nutrition, physical therapy, and public health.
- Doctor of Philosophy (Epidemiology/Biostatistics), Loma Linda University (2016)
- Master of Science (Statistics), University of California, Riverside (2009)
- Master of Science (Biostatistics), University of Nevada, Reno (2007)
Her research spans multiple disciplines, focusing on environmental health impacts (air pollution effects), biomechanical analysis (movement patterns in clinical populations), and nutritional interventions (synbiotics, plant-based diets). She employs advanced statistical methodologies to support translational research across allied health professions.
Recent publications highlight her work on biological aging (2023-2025), biomechanics of musculoskeletal conditions (2022-2025), and nutrition-disease interactions (2024). She serves as principal investigator and statistical consultant for numerous clinical trials and translational studies.
Scientific Awards:
- 4 Conference Scholarship Awards (WUSS 2010, SAS Global Forum 2020, PharmaSUG 2019, Lung Science Conference 2016)
- 3 Conference Chair/Presentation Roles (WUSS 2016, OCIE SUG President 2011-present)
Current projects include multi-species synbiotic supplementation trials, air pollution and cognition studies, and biomechanical analysis of movement disorders. She provides analytical support to graduate and faculty research across nutrition, physical therapy, and occupational therapy disciplines.
