Libby Johnson

Libby Johnson serves as an Adjunct Instructor of Dance at the University of Northwestern - St. Paul. She concurrently holds positions as a board member for Ballet 5:8 and staff instructor/co-director of upper-level education programs at Celebrate Dance Academy.

Education:

• B.S. in Kinesiology, University of Minnesota, with emphasis in dance

Johnson's creative scholarship focuses on the intersection of embodied artistry and spiritual formation. Her multidisciplinary practice integrates choreography, devotional writing, musical composition, and podcasting to explore faith-based artistic expression. Notable performance venues include MN Fringe Festival, Project Dance NYC, and Art House North, with choreographic work recognized by Minnesota's Spotlight Award for high school musical productions. She founded Vivid Artistry Co. to develop spiritually formative resources through retreats, workshops, and multimedia performances.

Through her role at Celebrate Dance Academy and Vivid Artistry Co., Johnson mentors emerging dance artists while developing curricula that bridge technical dance training with spiritual formation. Her 2021 Brehm Center residency at Fuller Seminary advanced research on art-faith integration methodologies. Additional creative output includes publications with Square Halo Publishing and two original music albums.

Johnson leads Vivid Artistry Co. as founder, serves on Ballet 5:8's board, and co-directs upper-level performance programs at Celebrate Dance Academy while hosting the 'Art & Faith Conversations' podcast.
