Lianna Mark

Dr. Lianna Mark is a Lecturer in the Department of Literature at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam's Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. She specializes in contemporary theatre studies, focusing on autofiction, British theatre, and inclusion-exclusion dynamics in performance. Her research explores narrative identity in theatrical works and institutional authenticity in spaces like the Royal Court Theatre.

Key research interests include autofiction, dramatic conventions, and the intersection of literature and performance. Recent work analyzes plays by Debris Stevenson and Ella Hickson, examining autobiographical performance in modern theatre.

Mark has held editorial roles for Platform: Journal of Theatre and Performing Arts and is a member of the Excellence Cluster 'Temporal Communities' at Freie Universität Berlin. She has been awarded grants including the LMU Mentorship Programme (2024) and a Postdoctoral Fellowship (2023).
