Liangzhi Kou is an Associate Professor at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), within the School of Mech., Medical & Process Engineering. His research focuses on 2D materials, ferroelectric catalysis, energy conversion, and nanostructured devices. He leads a team exploring novel materials for applications in solar energy, gas sensing, and chemical catalysis using advanced computational methods like DFT.
- Education: PhD in Nanomechanics from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (2012).
- Career: Humboldt Fellow (Germany, 2012–2014), Postdoc at UNSW Sydney (2014–2015), and QUT academic roles since 2015.
Research Interests:
- Design of 2D ferroelectrics for controllable catalytic reactions and electronics.
- Development of multiferroic heterostructures for spintronics and optoelectronics.
- Computational modeling of gas capture and water splitting mechanisms.
