Liane Schmidt is a cognitive neuroscientist and Principal Investigator (PI) at INSERM (French National Institute of Health and Medical Research) since 2017, affiliated with the Brain Institute. She leads the Control-Interoception-Attention research team, focusing on how beliefs, mindsets, and self-talk influence motivation, decision-making, interoception, and medical treatment responsiveness.
Her research combines functional MRI, behavioral testing, and computational modeling to explore neurocognitive mechanisms in healthy individuals and patients with psychiatric conditions like depression and autism.
