Liam Dunn serves as an Associate Professor and Director of Academic Support at Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where he has been faculty since 2016. In his administrative role, he enhances students' foundational legal skills through coursework, individual mentoring, and workshops while co-founding the JumpStart Program to recruit and prepare underrepresented students for legal careers.
His academic credentials include a Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from Columbia University, Master of Science in School Psychology from Northeastern University, and Bachelor of Arts from Providence College.
Professor Dunn's scholarly focus centers on legal pedagogy and equity in legal education, evidenced by his design of courses like Legal Analysis and Problem Solving and Race, Law and Society. His JumpStart Program demonstrates applied commitment to expanding access to legal professions through targeted skills development for marginalized groups.
As Director of Academic Support, he provides comprehensive student advising for bar preparation and academic success. Prior to academia, he practiced business litigation at Ulmer & Berne LLP, externed for U.S. District Judge Donald C. Nugent, and clerked at J.M. Smucker Company. He maintains active community engagement through ACLU volunteer work in legal research and Know Your Rights advocacy.
The JumpStart Program represents his signature institutional contribution, creating structured pathways for underrepresented students through specialized pre-law training and ongoing academic support systems within the law school environment.
