Li Xing is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Saskatchewan (USask), holding positions since July 2024. Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor at USask (2019–2024) and concurrently as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Victoria (UVic) since 2020. His research focuses on big data analysis, bioinformatics, machine learning, Bayesian methods, longitudinal data problems, biostatistics, and experimental design.
Education: PhD in Statistics from the University of British Columbia (UBC, 2014), supervised by Paul Gustafson; MSc in Mathematics (UBC, 2005) and MSc in Statistics (Simon Fraser University, 2007). He has extensive postdoctoral and industry experience, including roles at the FDA, Johns Hopkins University, and HLI (UBC).
Research Interests:
- Development of novel statistical methods for large-scale genomic data
- Machine learning applications in healthcare and environmental monitoring
- Longitudinal data analysis in epidemiology and biostatistics
