Li Felländer-Tsai

Li Felländer-Tsai is a Professor and Senior Physician at Karolinska Institutet, leading the Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology and directing the Center for Advanced Medical Simulation and Training (CAMST). She specializes in orthopaedic surgery, musculoskeletal trauma, and medical simulation-based education. Her academic roles include past presidencies of EFORT, the Swedish Orthopaedic Association, and the Nordic Orthopaedic Federation. She holds a Dr. Med Sc from Karolinska Institutet (1992) and has authored over 300 publications.

Research focuses on musculoskeletal injury recovery, surgical innovation, and patient safety through simulation training. Key interests include trauma epidemiology, tissue metabolism monitoring (via microdialysis), and advanced surgical skill development. Awards include the Karolinska Pedagogical Prize (2001) and honorary memberships in EFORT and the Swedish Orthopaedic Association.
