Lewis Eves is a Lecturer in the Department of Government at the University of Essex, appointed since September 2024. Previously, he held roles as a Teaching Associate at the University of Sheffield and an Associate Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University. His research focuses on how historical narratives of the Second Sino-Japanese War influence contemporary security dynamics between China and Japan, situated within broader themes of International Security Studies and East Asian International Relations.
He holds a PhD in Politics from Sheffield Hallam University, an MA in International Security Studies from the University of Leicester, and a BA in International Relations and History from the University of Leicester. His teaching spans International Relations, Political Theory, Domestic Politics, and Research Methods.
Prior academic appointments include roles at Sheffield Hallam University as a Teaching Assistant (2019–2021) and Associate Lecturer (2021–present), alongside his current and past roles. His academic support hours are held on Tuesdays from 13:30–14:30 at the Colchester Campus.
