Levana V. Cohen

Levana V. Cohen is an Adjunct Professor of Clarinet and Music Education at Long Island University, Post Campus, within the School of Performing Arts. She also serves as Clarinet Instructor at Suffolk County Community College and maintains a private studio in Port Washington, NY. A dedicated performer and educator, she holds a D.M.A. from Stony Brook University and performs as Principal Clarinetist with the Astoria Symphony Orchestra.

Research and Professional Interests: Dr. Cohen specializes in clarinet performance and pedagogy, woodwind methods, performance anxiety, and integrating yoga into musical training. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes helping students develop their unique artistic voice while preparing them for sustainable careers in music.

Her recent publications focus on foundational clarinet skills, including beginner instruction, articulation, and sound production. These works reflect a consistent trend in practical, accessible music education resources aimed at improving technical proficiency and pedagogical clarity for both teachers and students.
