Leslie Saper is a Professor of Mathematics at Duke University's Department of Mathematics, part of the Trinity College of Arts & Sciences. He has held this position since 2005 and previously served as Chair of Mathematics (2020–2021), Director of Undergraduate Studies (2015–2019), and Associate Chair (2007–2010). His academic journey includes a Ph.D. from Princeton University (1984) and B.S./M.S. degrees from Yale University (1979).
His research focuses on the interplay between topology and analysis, particularly in singular spaces, cohomology theories (e.g., L²-cohomology, intersection cohomology), and locally symmetric spaces.
