Leslie Nelson

Leslie Nelson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She serves as a physical therapist, educator, and researcher, specializing in neuromuscular disorders since 2004. Her roles include coordinating and guest lecturing in core physical therapy courses, service learning programs, and research curricula. Clinically, she evaluates and treats pediatric and adult patients with neuromuscular disorders such as DMD, SMA, CMT, and myotubular myopathy.

Her research focuses on clinical outcomes for neuromuscular populations, particularly in developing and validating assessment tools for clinical trials.
