Leslie King

Leslie King is a Professor of Sociology and Director of Honors in Sociology at Smith College. Her research spans population studies, environmental sociology, and corporate power.

Her work critically examines how nationalist ideologies intersect with gender, race, ethnicity, and class in population policies. Recent projects explore corporate environmental sustainability and the corporatization of social movement activism.

Selected publications include co-editorship of Environmental Sociology: From Analysis to Action (Rowman & Littlefield, 2013) and articles on topics like pronatalism, nursing home industries, and environmental justice. She teaches courses on corporate power, the sociology of food, and population politics.
