Dr. Leonie van Bruggen is an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (Department of Clinical Sciences). A board-certified European Specialist in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI Diplomate), she combines clinical practice, teaching, and research with a focus on veterinary forensic applications of diagnostic imaging.
Her research centers on veterinary forensics, particularly using imaging to detect animal abuse. She collaborates internationally with veterinary and human forensic experts and serves on the expert panel of the Netherlands' Veterinary Forensic Expertise Center (LED).
