Dr. Leonie le Sage serves as Professor of Professional Identity at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, appointed in 2020. She leads the Lectorate Professional Identity of the Social Worker within the Research Centre Urban Talent, focusing on strengthening social work professional identity amid interprofessional collaboration challenges in care and technology. Her work addresses crises in social work through methodologically rigorous and normatively critical approaches to sustainable metropolitan environments.
Her research interests center on:
- Developing robust professional profiles for social workers
- Integrating social work values with practical actions
- Addressing blurred boundaries between social work and related professions
- Creating policy frameworks for identifying social inequalities
