Leonard Steverson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Behavioral Sciences at Flagler College, part of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on public sociology, deviance, crime, and social problems, reflecting a commitment to understanding societal challenges through empirical and theoretical frameworks.
Education includes a Ph.D. in Human Services from Capella University, M.S. in Sociology from Valdosta State University, and B.S. in Sociology from Georgia Southern University.
Research interests span public sociology, deviance and crime, and social problems. Steverson employs both qualitative and quantitative methods to explore how societal structures influence individual behavior and community well-being. His work often bridges academic theory with real-world applications.
Steverson's publications focus on sociological theory, mental health systems, and criminal justice. Recent works examine eco-anxiety, gentrification pedagogy, and addiction frameworks, consistently highlighting interdisciplinary approaches to social issues.
