Leonard Green is a Professor of Psychological & Brain Sciences and Economics at Washington University in St. Louis, serving as Director of Undergraduate Studies in Psychological & Brain Sciences. He holds a PhD from the State University of New York and a BA from City College. His research focuses on decision-making processes in humans and animals, particularly self-control, behavioral economics, and the mathematical modeling of delayed/probabilistic outcomes. His work bridges experimental psychology and economic theory.
Green’s research emphasizes how individuals evaluate rewards over time and uncertainty, including studies on delay discounting and impulsivity. He co-authored Economic Choice Theory: An Experimental Analysis of Animal Behavior and has contributed to volumes like The Wiley-Blackwell Handbook of Operant and Classical Conditioning.
