Leon Shpanin is a Senior Lecturer in Electronic and Electrical Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University, where he serves as Course Leader for MSc Automation Control and Robotics. He holds an MSc in Radio Frequency Engineering and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Liverpool.
His research focuses on electrical engineering applications including renewable energy systems, HVDC circuit interruptions, and electromagnetic techniques for current interruption. He received the RAEng Award (2020) for developing next-generation circuit breakers for rail networks.
