Leon Robinson is a Lecturer in Religious and Philosophical Education at the University of Glasgow's School of Education. He holds roles as Chief Adviser of Studies and oversees the PGDE Religious and Philosophical Education program. His research focuses on Education for Sustainability, Hindu iconography, and the intersection of art, religion, and pedagogy. He has taught widely, from primary schools to adult education, and collaborated on projects involving military officer training and theater skills for youth.
Education: BA Hons in Philosophy & Theology (University of Oxford, 1982), PGCE in Religious Education (Brighton University, 1997).
Research emphasizes symbolic literacy, paradox in education, and interfaith dialogue. His recent work explores AI's role in teacher training. He has presented at international conferences, including SERA and AULRE, and authored chapters on Scottish education and spiritual development.
Publications span book reviews, conference papers, and edited volumes, with a focus on religious education theory and interdisciplinary approaches. Awards include the 1999 Farmington Trust Award for Religious Education.
Teaching contributions include the M Educ program, lectures on Hinduism, and Hunterian Museum collaborations. He supervises dissertations and delivers CPD workshops on world religions and storytelling.
