Leo May

Leo May is a researcher in the Electronic And Electrical Engineering department at the University of Strathclyde, affiliated with the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Future Power Networks and Smart Grids. His work focuses on wind power forecasting and energy systems modeling.

Research interests include renewable energy, statistical forecasting models (particularly quantile regression and generalized additive models), and data-driven approaches to smart grids and energy markets. He actively contributes to collaborative projects and competitions in the energy sector.

Scientific achievements include:

• 2nd Place in the EEM 2020 Wind Power Forecasting Competition
• Runner-up in the OREC Power Available Hackathon (2019)

He has presented work on day-ahead forecasting of wind power at international conferences, including the European Energy Market conference in 2021.
