Lennart Persson is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Linköping University, affiliated with the Department of Health, Medicine and Care and specifically the Department of Diagnostics and Specialist Medicine. He also works as a senior physician at the Department of Pulmonary Medicine, US, Linköping.
His research focuses on clinical aspects of inflammatory lung diseases, particularly chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and pulmonary fibrosis. He has contributed to studies on telemonitoring systems for COPD management, systemic inflammation in COPD, vitamin D status, and pulmonary function's relationship to cardiovascular disease. His work often involves population-based studies like the Swedish CArdiopulmonary bioImage study (SCAPIS).
