Lennart Michaelis

Lennart Michaelis serves as a Research Associate at the Institute of Sociology, Friedrich Schiller University Jena, specializing in labour and economic sociology within the Chair of Work, Industrial and Economic Sociology. His current research focuses on the automotive industry transformation under Project BeaT (Renewing Vocational Training for the Automotive Transformation).

His research interests span:

• Development of structure and employment in the automotive industry
• Vocational (further) training in industry
• Trade unions and industrial relations
• Political economy
• Class theory

As part of the sociology department at Friedrich Schiller University Jena, he collaborates within a research group including Prof. Dr. Klaus Dörre, Prof. Dr. habil. Hans-Jürgen Urban, and other academic staff. His work examines systemic transformations in industrial relations and vocational training frameworks.
