She also serves as a postdoctoral fellow and physiotherapist at the Center for Clinical Research in Västmanland. As a registered physiotherapist by training, she works as a business developer in Region Västmanland focusing on research and development of support for patients needing lifestyle changes.
Her primary research interests center on cardiovascular prevention and the metabolic syndrome, with particular emphasis on lifestyle counseling for patients at high cardiovascular risk. Her work bridges clinical practice and academic research, focusing on practical interventions that can be implemented in primary care settings to improve patient outcomes through behavioral change.
Analysis of her recent publications (2019-2024) reveals a strong research trajectory in cardiovascular risk reduction, metabolic syndrome management, and structured lifestyle interventions. Her work has expanded to include depression treatment for older adults through the DepActive study, demonstrating her growing interest in mental health aspects of geriatric care. Her research consistently employs population-based cohort studies and structured intervention protocols, often with long-term follow-up periods.
Lönnberg completed her doctoral thesis in 2022 titled 'Lifestyle counseling in primary health care for patients with high cardiovascular risk,' which forms the foundation of her ongoing research program focused on developing effective, sustainable approaches to cardiovascular risk management through lifestyle modification.
