Lena Landström is an Associate Professor at the Department of Law and affiliated with the Unit of Police Work at Umeå University. Her research focuses on criminal procedure, policing, and prosecutorial responsibilities, emphasizing legal ethics and rule of law.

Her research projects include Victims of Racism and Policing in Sweden – Efficiency and Rule of Law in Police Work, analyzing police accountability and prosecutorial discretion. She contributes to EU-funded studies on AI in border control and collaborates with the University of Bergen on police law.
Landström supervises law and police students, integrating problem-based learning (PBL) into curricula. She is a member of Umeå University's disciplinary committee and the advisory panel for the Norwegian research project Police and Prosecution Law.
